Jagdish Gundara.

Jagdish Singh Gundara received his earlier education in Kenya, followed by an undergraduate degree at Bowdoin College, USA and an MA at McGill University. His doctorate was taken at the University of Edinburgh. He is Head of the International Centre for Intercultural Studies at the University of London's Institute of Education and he has been central to the development of intercultural education in the UK.

Dr Gundara is a member of the Council of St. Georges' House, Windsor Castle, Deputy Secretary-General of the Indian Ocean International Historical Association, a founding member of the International Association for Micro-States Studies, European Intercultural Parliamentary Group and Director and Vice-chairperson of the International Broadcasting Trust. He is also Chairperson of the South Asian Literature Society. Dr Gundara has received the Bhai Vir Singh International Award from the Dalai Lama for his work in education in socially diverse societies; the Indian Council of World Affairs has given him an award for his contribution to Intercultural and International Understanding; and he is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. A prolific writer and publisher, his latest work is Interculturalism: An Inclusive Approach to Education (Paul Chapman, forthcoming 1999). Dr Gundara advises on intercultural values, education and human rights.

Wang Guizhi.

Wang Guizhi is a Professor and Dean of linguistics and applied linguistics at the Harbin Institute of Technology in China. Her research is mainly in the area of inter-cultural communication. Recently she was a Visiting Scholar at the McLuhan Program of Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto, collaborating on the research of media development and its cultural effects, east and west. She has a practical and deep grasp of Chinese culture and values within the global setting. A dynamic leader and organizer, Ms Wang is member of the Chinese Cross-Cultural Communication Association and a Board Member of the Chinese Association for Canadian Studies.

Erika Hofmann - Executive Secretary

Ms Hofmann has served in several executive administrative capacities with various International and American companies in Switzerland. She is a recognized expert in organizing international seminars, conferences and meetings. Working and writing in several languages, she has administered intergovernmental, non-government and private sector programmes. Her own personal values, professional ethics and wide cultural background come to Strathmor from Geneva where she participates in scientific projects and is executive secretary to an educational public sector department. Ms Hofmann coordinates and organizes the requests and needs of Strathmor's interests.
